How to Choose: The HEPA Silent or SmokeStop Flters?
The HEPASilent particle filter
has a three stages of HEPA media to remove dust mites, tree and flower pollen, mold spores, pet dander and bacteria from the air. Particles are given a slight negative charge before the pass through the mechanical filter. The charged particle becomes highly attracted to the polypropylene HEPA filter media, where it ends it's airborne life. Blueair HEPASilent particle filters remove 99.97 % of all particles greater that 0.1 micron from the air.The HEPASilent filter comes standard on all Blueair purifiers.
The optional SmokeStop carbon filter
is made with enhanced activated carbon in addition to the HEPASilent particle filter. The SmokeStop filter removes cigarette and wood smoke, formaldehyde, carbon monoxide, cleaning products, paint thinner and other VOCs (volatile organic compounds) from the air. Because the SmokeStop has the same HEPASilent media in it, SmokeStop removes the same particulates plus smoke and other airborne gases.Perplexed?
