The Three Stage Progressive Filter

It’s mechanical, not political! Traditional HEPA air cleaners use one stage of filtration. Once clogged, these units become ineffective.
What makes the Blueair filtration progressive? Three separate filter layers trap 6 times more dirt than typical HEPA air purifiers.
Blueair filters have millions of ultra thin fibers. Each stage of filtration utilizes a different size of fiber. The outter filter layer traps the largest particles including pollen and dust. The middle and inner layer trap even the smallest submicroscopic particles - 99.97% of all particles 0.1 micron in size.
The Blueair Purifier fibers are packed loosely to maintain the highest air flow with the lowest resistance possible in mechanical filtration. This arrangement works because the particles are given a slight electrical charge in the sealed ion chamber. This charge creates and irresistible attraction: Particles and filter media meet and are bound together forever.
This unique design combines electrostatic and mechanical filtration.

Do you dislike noisy, drafty appliances? Traditional air cleaners use loud fans to force air into and out of their machines. Blueair uses a whisper quiet fan and draws dirty air into the sides and bottom of the purifier. After being thoroughly cleansed, the air is gently released via diffusion through the sides and top of the Blueair purifier without creating a stir. This unique Blueair technology minimizes noise and drafts.

Environmentally Sound

The US Department of Energy and the EPA have awarded Blueair with The Energy Star, the highest standard of energy efficiency. Blueair's energy consumption is so minisule, it uses the same energy as a single lit bulb!
The polypropylene HEPASilent filter is non-toxic and bio degrades into carbon dioxide and water. The steel filter housing is recyclable.
Blueair REDUCES OZONE, a known lung irritant which has been shown to increase the incidence of allergies, asthma and other lung diseases.

Particle Filter

The Three Stage HEPASilent Filter removes dust mites, tree and flower pollen, mold spores, pet dander and bacteria. Particles are given a slight negative charge before the pass through the mechanical filter. The charged particle becomes highly attracted to the polypropylene HEPASilent filter media, where it ends it's airborne life. Blueair air purifiers removes 99.97 % of all particles greater that 0.1 micron from the air.

The Optional SmokeStop™ Filter

The Bluair SmokeStop filter is made with Enhanced Activated Carbon in addition to the HEPASilent standard particle filter. The enhanced activated carbon is made from coconut shell and treated with Potassium Hydroxide (KOH) and Potassium Iodide (KI) for enhanced adsorption. The SmokeStop filter removes cigarette and wood smoke, formaldehyde, carbon monoxide,cleaning products, paint thinner and other VOCs (volatile organic compounds) from the air.

Choosing a Blueair purifier.

Size Matters!

Choose the air purifier that matches your room size. Area measurements are based upon rooms with 8 foot ceilings. For higher ceilings, choose a larger capacity Blueair purifier. Recommendations are based upon 5 air exchanges per hour with the air cleaner on it's highest setting. Prices below include the standard HEPASilent filter.

Impurities Removed

All Blueair air purifiers use HEPASilent filter technology and remove airborne particles including dust mites, mold spores, pollen,pet dander and more at 99.97% efficiency at 0.1 micron.
The optional SmokeStop filter has the addition of enriched activated carbon and are recommended for people who live around smoke, who have chemical sensitivities, or who live in industrial or urban environments. The SmokeStop filters help to reduce both chemicals and particulates from the air.

The Blueair Series E

Electronic control, timer and digital monitoring of indoor air quality.

Blueair Series E has electronic sensors which continuously monitor the particles and gases in the air. Always vigilant, you can set the Series E on automatic, and it will adjust the fan speed according to the air quality. More particles or chemicals in the air? Immediately, and automatically, the fan speed goes up. As air quality improves, the fan speed drops. Blueair Series E is the ultimate in efficiency. Alternatively, you can choose the fan setting with thee wireless remote or on the Blueair purifier itself.

The electronic gas sensor will detect cooking odors, smoke, exhaust fumes, formaldehyde and other VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds) that are in the air. The digital display show a happy face when gaseous contaminants are at low level and a sad face when indoor air contaminants go up and you need to increase the fan speed of the Blueair Purifier.
The electronic particle sensor determines the amount of airborne particles in the air including pollen, dust mites, smoke, pet dander, mold spores and more. Similarly, the happy and sad face on the digital display lets you know about the air quality in your home or office and informs your decision regarding the fan speed.
