What is a HEPASilent filter?

The Blueair HEPASilent filter combines three technologies:
1. The Ionic Chamber
2. The Three Stage Progressive Filter
3. SurroundAir

What is an Ionic Chamber?

Particles, including dust, pet dander, molds and bacteria are drawn into a sealed chamber inside Blueair Air purifier. While in the chamber the particles are given a slight electrical charge and move to the particle filter.

How does the Three Stage Progressive Filter work?

The Blueair progressive filter has three separate layers of ultra thin fibers in three different sizes. These fibers are loosely packed to prevent clogging and maintain the lowest resistance possible in mechanical filtration. In each stage of filtration the fibers become progressively smaller. The outer layer traps the largest particles including pollen and dust. The middle and inner layer trap even the smallest submicroscopic particles including smoke and bacteria. Because the particles have a slight electrical charge, they become irresistibly attracted to the polyproplyne fibers, where the become trapped forever.

What is SurroundAir?

The Blueair SurroundAir technology uses a whisper quiet fan to draw air into the Blueair purifier. Minimal force is needed to move air through the three stage filter because of the low density of it's fibers. Air is than released back into the room via diffusion.

Does Blueair release ozone into the air?

No. In fact, Blueair Air Purifiers actually reduce ozone in the air.

What are CADR ratings?

Clean Air Delivery Rate, as determined by The Association of Appliance Manufactures (AHAM), an independent laboratory.
Blueair has the highest CADR for dust, molds and smoke for any air purifier in its class.

Is Blueair environmentally safe?

Yes. The housing is all steel and has a baked on enamel finish that does not off gas. Next, the filter and the filter housing are bio-degradable. Also Blueair actually reduces ozone, a known lung irritant. Finally, Blueair uses a highly efficient motor and fan. Recognized by the EPA, FDA and ALA (American Lung Association)

How often should I change the filter?

After six months of continuous use.

What is the SmokeStop filter?

The BlueAir SmokeStop filter has the same three stage particle filter as the HEPASilent filter, with the addition of activated carbon, for enhanced removal of smoke, odors and chemicals.
